Ivan Aksentijevich

Dr. Ivan Aksentijevich is a US Board Certifi ed earned his Medical Doctor Degree from the University of Belgrade, Serbia. After obtaining his training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Dr. Aksentijevich joined Virginia Cancer Specialists. He currently holds the titles of Chair of the Department of Medicine, Chair of Medical Oncology, Chair of the Blood Bank Committee at Alexandria Hospital, Consultant at ASOS Med Group and is an investigator on several clinical trials. His main clinical interests are in the fi eld of hematologic malignancies. In addition to being board certifi ed in both Hematology and Medical Oncology, Dr. Aksentijevich is a member of the American Society of Hematology and the American society of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Ivan Aksentijevich has received several competitive awards, including a National Institute of Health Biotechnology Award, a National Cancer Institute Technology Transfer Award, an American Society of Clinical Oncology Merit Award, and two American College of Physicians Clinical Poster Awards. He has been an invited guest speaker at many national and international cancer meetings and has published numerous book chapters and original articles in peer reviewed journals.
