CEM KARAS

He graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine after completing his high school education at Izmir Atatürk High School. He specialized in ENT and Head-Neck Surgery at 9 Eylül University. He studied on numerous patients about sleep apnea and snoring and wrote his thesis on this topic at the Department of ENT at 9 Eylül University. He is a member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He studied on esthetic nose surgery under the supervision of Prof.Dr. Gilbert TRENITE at Amsterdam University in Holland. He studied on face beautification and face rejuvenation at the American Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery in San Diego and Hollywood in USA. He had surgical and theoretical training on face lifting, endoscopic eyebrow lifting, and upper and lower eyelid surgery. He participated instructive seminars, which were organized by American Facial Plastic Surgery Association and held in Porto Rico-South America. He had the chance of visiting hospitals, idea exchanging and working with colleagues in Cuba (Havana), Vietnam (Saigon and Hanoi), and Cambodia (Siem Reap). He has conducted theoretical, surgical, and cadaver researches on endoscopic sinus surgery under the supervision of Prof.Dr. H.Stammberger, who is one of the founders of endoscopic sinus surgery, at Graz University in Australia. Surgeon Dr. Cem Karas is fluent in English and amongst the founding members of Ekol ENT Hospital, which was founded in 2006. He has carried on his duty since then. He is the mandate manager of the hospital. His research interests include childhood ENT diseases, adenoid and tonsil operation with radiofrequency, esthetic nose and facial surgery, prominent ear, eyelid plastic surgery, endoscopic sinus surgery, sinus diseases, sleep apnea and snoring surgery, thyroid-goiter diseases and surgeries, and neck and tumor surgery.
