Medipol Healthcare Group is providing Bone marrow transplantation services in Medipol Mega Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Centre.

Bone marrow transplant is applied particularly in cases of leukemia or on recurrent lymphoma and on solid tumors after high doses of chemotherapy. There are two types of Bone Marrow Transplants:

1. Autologous bone marrow transplant - The donor is the person him/herself.

2. Allogenic bone marrow transplant - The donor is another person whose tissue has the same genetic type as the person needing the transplant (recipient). Because tissue types are inherited, similar to hair or eye color, it is more likely that the recipient will find a suitable donor in a brother or sister. This, however, happens only 25 to 30 percent of the time.

Both Autologous and Allogenic bone marrow transplant procedures are applied in Medipol Mega Hospital Bone Marrow Transplant Centre.
