Dr. Abdel Rahman Ahmed Omer completed his medical education (MBBS) from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Khartoum, Sudan. Subsequently, he completed his Masters in Surgical Sciences (MSc.) from the University College London (UK). Dr. Abdel was awarded a Doctorate (PhD) from the Hartford University in USA. He subsequently became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) in UK.

Dr. Abdel started his career in Sudan. From 1993 to 1996 he worked in a number of reputed hospitals in the UK. In 1996, Dr. Abdel was a Research Fellow with the University College London Hospitals UK for 2 years. From 1998 to 2004 he continued his practice in the UK . Most recently, he was associated with the Ipswich Hospital - NHS Trust UK where he was the Lead Consultant in Colorectal, General and Laparoscopic Surgery.

Dr. Abdel also has an avid interest in teaching and has been active in surgical as well as undergraduate student training. He is a keen researcher and has been an author of a number of Peer – reviewed publications. He has been the Lead Consultant in Surgical Research and has participated in a number of clinical trials. He is also on the Editorial Boards of the International Journal of Surgery and the Sudanese Journal of Surgery. Dr. Abdel has an experience of more than 25 years spanning USA, UK and Africa. His key interests include Colorectal Surgery, General Surgery and Laparoscopic Surgery.
