Prof. Dr. Hilali Noordeen completed his medical qualification at the University of Oxford, UK in 1985. After qualifying, he received his Orthopedic training at the Royal National Orthopedic Hospital and The Middlesex Hospital, UK. He was awarded the Wellington Foundation Fellowship in 1992; the AO Trauma Fellowship at Harborview Medical Center, USA in the same year; and a Travelling Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1993.

He received Sir Walter Mercer Gold Medal for Outstanding Performance in the Intercollegiate FRCS (Orth) examinations in 1993; first prize, BOA, Richards/Smith and Nephew Awards for research in 1993; Charles Manning Scoliosis Travel Award in 1994; and ISOLA Prize for Best Scientific Paper by the British Scoliosis Society (BSS) in 1995. Currently, Prof. Dr. Hilali is a member of the British Orthopedic Association, British Scoliosis Society, Scoliosis Research Society, and British Scoliosis Research Foundation.

His special interests include spinal deformity, including children's deformity, degenerative adult deformity, deformity secondary to spinal injury and fractures, and degenerative low-back problems.
