Mustafa Remzi Karaoğuz, M.D. was born in 1957 in Elazig. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1980. He completed his residency in internal medicine in 1985 and residency in cardiology in 1987 at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine. He attended Baylor College of Medicine Methodist Hospital in Houston for electrophysiology training. He completed his military service in 1990-91 at Gülhane Military Medical Academy. He received his Associate Professor of Cardiology degree in 1989, and Professor of Cardiology degree in 1995. Until 2010, he was a faculty member at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Cardiology. Between 2010 and 2015, he worked as a Professor of Cardiology at Ankara Guven Private Hospital. During his 30 years of career in cardiology, he focused on fields such as the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, ventricular and supraventricular arrhythmias ablation , permanent pacemaker and defibrillator applications. Moreover, he has authored 3 books, 2 of which are about cardiac device therapy and many book chapters. Currently, he works as a Professor of Cardiology Koç University Hospital and Vehbi Koç Foundation American Hospital in Istanbul.
