Aycan Işıklar obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 1990 from the University of Ankara, Turkey, working in the faculty of Chemistry Sciences. Between the years 1990-1994 she had her specialising on Biochemistry and Clinical Biochemistry at the Health Ministry of Ankara Hospital. Following her clinical embryology training in London Gynecology and Fertility Hospital in between the years 1994-1996, she was certificated for the laboratory based procedural applications of IVF (In-vitro fertilization). She founded the IVF laboratory in the American Hospital, Istanbul, Assisted Reproduction Unit in 1996. She is still working at Amerivan Hospital as an senior embriyologist that performs over 1000 IVF/ICSI (ICSI-Intracytoplasmic sperm injection) cycles per year. Her major interest areas are embryo selection, in-vitro culture techniques, cryopreservation, and blastocyst culture. She has published extensively in these fields. She’s a member of the National Represantatives Committee of ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology) since 2008. She had been a member of Alpha society –Scientists in Reproductive medicine since 1998. She’s a member of the Turkish Society of Clinical Embryologists(KED).
