Dr. Isabel Otero is a PhD in Medicine from the University of Santiago de Compostela, and Specialist in General and Digestive Surgery, qualified for advanced laparoscopic surgery, and special dedication to this discipline for over 20 years.

Since 2001 she has held the position of Head of Section for General and Digestive Surgery at the Hospital Meixoeiro in Vigo (University Hospital Complex of Vigo), a position she combines with her private practice in association with Dr. Ignacio Maruri, at VigoLap.

Dr. Otero is a member of the Spanish Society of Surgery for Morbid Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (SECO) and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), and currently occupies the position of President of the Surgical Society of Galicia.
